Gordon “Gordy” Welborn works in both our Portland and Central Oregon offices. He maintains a very active trial practice throughout Oregon and Washington, focusing on the defense of professionals including physicians, medical clinics and hospitals, and attorneys and law firms. Gordy’s active trial practice also includes product liability claims and high exposure automobile and trucking claims.
Gordy started his career as an active trial lawyer in 1987 in Portland and joined Hart Wagner in 1993. Based upon requests of our clients based in Central and Eastern Oregon, Gordy and his family moved to Redmond to open our office in 1998. Since that time, Gordy has earned the respect of judges, colleagues and opponents throughout Oregon and Washington as a trial lawyer in a broad range of cases. Gordy’s extensive trial experience in high exposure litigation has led to his reputation as the lawyer you need on your side. His compassion, persistence, and skill at quickly evaluating complex situations, developing strategy, and effectively representing his clients has led to him being the choice for clients facing high stakes litigation. With more than 30 years of trial experience, he has developed a foundation of credibility and integrity with opposing counsel and judges which has become invaluable to his clients.
Aside from his trial practice, Gordy has been actively involved and elected as the leader of a number of litigation based legal organizations throughout his career. These include his role as the President of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, President of the Oregon Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and his current position as Chair of the Oregon Chapter of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
